Dress: DVF ( I posted about it here)
Shoes: Calvin Klein
Today I’m having dinner to celebrate two friend’s birthdays. Happy Birthday Ca and Nicole!!!! I’m also getting a much needed haircut…hence the pony. I thought why not pull out my new DVF. The dress is a bit long so I decided to pair it with nude pumps to lengthen my legs. I think I’m going to hike up the hem a couple of inches…right above my knee…what do you think?

I’m trying to change the angles of my pictures in order to make them brighter. I think it’s a little too bright since you can’t tell that this skirt is baby blue…I think it looks more white…but you get the point. I was going to pair this monochrome outfit with a pair of tan shoes, but when I saw these I couldn’t resist 🙂
Ever since we got back from our French Polynesian honeymoon, I’ve been obsessed with two things – staying at my wedding weight and macaroons. Now, I realize that the latter obviously doesn’t facilitate the former but I was determined to find a compromise.
That compromise came in the form of this recipe I found in a cookbook I picked up at Barnes & Noble the other day – Everyday Light Meals (published by Taste of Home Books.)
Now, I’m not going to lie and say that they’re as amazing as the fresh macaroons we had at the Radisson Resort & Spa in Tahiti, but they are pretty good. They’re sweet, chewy and at only 45 calories per cookie, they don’t put too much of a dent in my calorie budget.
Chewy Coconut Macaroons
Yield: 72 cookies
2-1/2 cups flakes coconut
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/8 tsp salt
1 can (14 ounces) fat-free sweetened condensed milk
1-1/2 tsp vanilla extract
In a bowl, toss together the coconut, flour and salt. Stir in sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract until blended. (Mixture will be thick and sticky.)
Drop rounded teaspoonfuls 3 in. apart on baking sheets topped with parchment paper. Bake at 300 degrees for 18-22 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool for 2 minutes before removing to wire racks.
So, give it a try and let me know what you think. Enjoy!

In the summer, I try to wear as much color as possible. I wasn’t feeling very colorful this morning, so I just reached for this cream top and black skirt. In order to avoid the waitress look, I threw on a cute necklace and tan pumps.

Had a great weekend in Jamesport. One of my friends planned a wine tour and we visited some really fun vineyards. The entire day was so much fun that I ended up losing my cell phone. I was disappointed but at the same time I was able to relax and not think about calls/emails/text. My new phone will arrive tomorrow and all will go back to normal…in the meantime, I will enjoy this little unplanned tech break.

In case you haven’t noticed, I’m a little top heavy. I’m what most would call an apple shape. Sometimes I have a really hard time finding dresses or button down shirts that close and don’t leave my undergarments peeking out all day long. Imagine my amazement when I ran into Rebecca Drew, a brand that guarantees a perfect fit because their sizing is based on bra sizes…genius!!!!

I spend my days running in and out of very hot subways and then in my very chilly office. I love that this cardi adds a punch of color and keeps me warm in the while in the office!
It’s here!!! I’ve been anxiously awaiting my new DVF purchase after scoring a timeless wrap at such a great price. I’m all about finding a good bargain, however I would purchase a DVF wrap at retail price (as I have in the past). DVF wraps are such timeless and complementary pieces for every body type. Most prints are office appropriate (depending on how conservative your office is) and they can take you from day to night with a simple change of shoes and jewelry. I practically live in my DVFs all year round.
Here’s the package with some complementary luggage tags…how cute!
Here it is…New Julien Banded. Unfortunately, it’s no longer available on DFV.com
A perfect addition to my collection

I spent the weekend in Frank’s Family’s house in Jamesport. We went to visit one of his friends that owns a vineyard and I received a special tour around the entire property! I decided to wear this purchase from Bluefly. It had a 3/4 sleeves and a brocade trimming around the neck, hem and sleeves that I had my seamstress remove. I often take my clothese to my seamstress for a perfect look and fit. Nothing says classy than a well fitting outfit!
I usually live in dresses and jean shorts all summer. I’m really trying to incorporate more shorts to my wardrobe. As soon as I saw these shorts, I knew they would be a great add to start off this goal.
