Yes, I know today is Monday, but this is what I wore to the office on Friday. I normally don’t wear jeans to the office, however being that it was the last day of our fiscal year, I needed to be as comfortable as possible. A little update on that craziness, I made it! Lots of blood sweat and tears and I overachieved on my goal. It was a monster number folks, but I had a great team by my side to help me get there. Now it’s the beginning of the year and we’re all back to the beginning of the race. If any of you are in sales, you know how I’m feeling right now. I’ll be taking a little time off to recharge my batteries and get ready to hit the ground running on Monday.

Hey everyone, we’re baaaaack. I have some outfit shots to post later on in the week. For now, I leave you with today’s work outfit. This is one of those skirts I only wear in the Spring/Summer time. I really love it because it just goes with everything. Oh, and did you notice I finally got a haircut? Secret, I used to tease the heck out of my crown just to get some volume because it was so long and weighed down. I finally have some “natural” volume back.
I picked up this dress during Ann Taylor’s recent F&F sale. Actually, I picked it up the day before the sale when the lovely sales person talked me into getting a credit card…yikes I know. I don’t generally like to have store credit cards, but I decided to add this one because they often provide special perks for card holders such as F&F a day early. Score, I got this gorgeous dress. I decided to wear it the next day, but struggled with what shoes to wear with it. I finally decided on the black, I know, very safe of me. I just thought the dress was so bright that I needed to keep everything else neutral.
What do you think? Which shoes would you have worn?
In an effort not to look like the flag (except in the 4th of July), I like to add a pop of color to my red, white and blue ensembles.
Have a great weekend!
Frank and I have been invited to four weddings this year. It’s funny how we go thru phases, some years none, others four. The fesitivities for our first wedding started this weekend with a beautiful bridal shower for Lana, my dear friend Scott’s beautiful fiance. It was a very festive celebration complete with dancing, vodka shots and champaign, my kind of party! The bridesmaids even shot a video of Scott and played and interactive “question” game with the bride. It was a lot of fun! Here’s what I wore.
Before buying an item, I always think about three different ways of wearing with items I already own. (Not a secret, many off my favorite bloggers follow this rule as well). Here is one of my favorite purchases from this winter worn three different ways. Although it was a “winter” purchase, it will defitnitely stay in my closet year round.
Do you have items that you wear year round?
Skirt: Ann Taylor
Brown tights remind me of a grammar school uniform, but I was totally convinced otherwise by Jean from Extra Petitte. She’s so right, brown tights bring a warmth to any outfit. Will you be trying brown tights?
Top: Gap (similar and much cuter)
Skirt: Ann Taylor
Tights: Zara (similar)
Shoes: Banana Republic (similar)
I absolutely feel in love with this dress when I saw it in the Ann Taylor add. My excitement doubled when I found out they also carried it in Petite. You see, I ALWAYS have to raise hems on my dresses (I hate my short legs), but I didn’t have to touch this dress. It went from the rack to my body wihout any alterations!
