Hello lovely readers, happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend, I sure did. Spent time with friends, family and my amazing boyfriend. This is what I wore for my Saturday night date with Frank. I have to admit, I really didn’t thing I would jump on the fringe trend until I spotted this awesome skirt at Zara a few weeks ago. It spent about a week in the original shopping bag by my door ready to be returned, but I changed my mind. I guess you can say, it kinda grew on me.
What do you think, will you be trying out this trend?
Top: Target (old); skirt: Zara; Shoes: Calvin Klein; clutch: F21; necklace: H&M
I couldn’t help it…just had to 🙂
I know I was just badmouthing this skirt from the Jason Wu for Target collection the other day, but let me explain. It’s not that I don’t like the design, because I do. I just wish it had been made with a little more integrity — perhaps with a fabric that was less stiff and with a little more than a screen printed design. That said, I still like it and I will still wear it. Just as I did below to brighten up this rainy day we’re having here in the northeast.

note: I went for the “muscly” calf look in an effort to emulate my favorite royal at Ascot this weekend! 🙂
I picked up this dress during Ann Taylor’s recent F&F sale. Actually, I picked it up the day before the sale when the lovely sales person talked me into getting a credit card…yikes I know. I don’t generally like to have store credit cards, but I decided to add this one because they often provide special perks for card holders such as F&F a day early. Score, I got this gorgeous dress. I decided to wear it the next day, but struggled with what shoes to wear with it. I finally decided on the black, I know, very safe of me. I just thought the dress was so bright that I needed to keep everything else neutral.
What do you think? Which shoes would you have worn?

I hope everyone enjoyed Cat’s Wedding Week, I know she had a ton of fun putting it together. I will be giving her a break this week and giving you a full week of outfits. I will be mixing it up with work and weekend outfits, I hope you enjoy them.
I mentioned many times that I’m not a big fan of work suits, so I try to mix them up as much as possible. Here is a little remix of a black and gray suit. How do you mix up your suits?
Have a great Monday!

I’m going to admit something very embarrassing. Before today, I hadn’t cut my hair for almost an entire year. I cut it about a week before my wedding and our 1st anniversary is in 2 weeks. Worse yet, I had it cut all one length – not a good look for my sometimes curly hair. Since, I’d saved on an entire year’s worth of no haircuts, I decided to splurge on this last one. After some research I decided I’d go to the owner of the Girl Loves Boy Salon in Summit, NJ – Shahe Kasparian. And I’ve gotta say, it was a truly great experience. First, he took a look at my hair, and my face and explained to me why my hair shouldn’t be as long as it was. Apparently, for my face shape, my height and my hair type, my hair shouldn’t be longer than a face length past my face… does that make sense? Maybe this will help:
Also, he said I should never cut my hair one length again — that I need some dimension and an opportunity to create texture. I told him that I once got bangs and he cringed – he said definitely not for my face shape and because of the “wave” i have in my hairline — better known as my cowlick. All in all it was a very enlightening session. I place a high value on experts who can share with me some of the science behind what they do and Shahe did not disappoint! And I love my new haircut!
Note: the lighting in these makes my hair look brown but it's still black as ever.
In other news, I worked from home today as I had no physical meetings (thank God for Cisco Jabber Video!) so I dressed down a bit.
red jeans : express (similar) | leopard flats : via spiga (these took a WHILE to break in — try these as they appear to be more comfy out of the box) | black shirt – rebecca beeson (old) | cropped denim jacket : calvin klein jeans (old) (affordable alternatives : here and here) | scarf : small shop in spain | sunglasses : tory burch
We’re very sorry that we have been MIA in the last couple of days. Cat and I were in San Jose, at our company’s HQ attending a Women In Technology Forum. We had the opportunity to listen to many of our women executives, so inspiring. Well, we ended up traveling all day on Monday and spent the entire day in the forum. We just go in on the red eye…exhausted!
Onto the outfit, I recently picked up this pair of floral pants and couldn’t help myself. I had to replicate Katie Holmes outfit…..for much less!
Which celebrity looks do you like to replicate?

Times like this I wish I had kids….a little girl to be exact. In honor of today’s DVF for Gap Kids launch, I’m wearing one fo my favorite DFV dresses. If you’ve followed me for a while, you know that I have a HUGE obsession for DVF. I love every single piece in my collection!!! I’m very much considering picking up a dress and putting it away for when I have a little girl…ha ha!
Are you going to check out the DVF collection? Do you have a little princess to shop for? This one is my favorite.

This is the warmest February in NYC that I can remember. I’m totally in love with this weather and bringing out some of my spring pieces to prove it 🙂
Are you wearing spring items yet?
Skirt: Anthropologie (old)
Shoes: Calvin Klein
Excuse the super pale legs!!!!
Nothing polishes a look off, like a blazer.
Since I came to this realization, I’ve been trying to build up the blazer selection in my closet. Yesterday, while at one of my favorite stores, Annie Sez, I came across this gorgeous Laundry by Shelli Segal bouclé blazer and was immediately in love. The retail price was $245, but I was able to scoop it up (after many markdowns) for only $44.98! Considering that I already put it to use, I think it was a great investment.
Now, the outfit on the left is from this post a few months ago, and today I pretty much took that exact outfit, swapped the opaque tights for textured ones and added the bouclé blazer. What do you think? Big difference, right?
Blazer: Laundry by Shelli Segal (purchased at Annie Sez)
Textured Tights: Target
Note (1): For those of you in the northeast, Annie Sez is a goldmine and you should get to your local one right away. They have designer brands at discount prices and they constantly send out e-mail coupons for significant discounts. I even spotted some Chanel purses at my local Annie Sez the other day — while still out of my price range, the discount was impressive. (I’m mentioning this store because of my extreme love for it. I am not being compensated in any way.)
Note (2): If you enjoy the occasional fashion faux pas — check out the pic below to see mine from today. Haha! I’m so silly.
It has been unseasonably warm here in the East Coast, and I’m NOT complaining. As much as I love boots, I love wearing pumps with my skinny jeans because they make my stubby legs look miles long! By the way, don’t you just LOVE this new top? I got it from a store called Joe Fresh, have you heard of it? It’s a Canadian based company that has opened up stores here in NYC (not sure where else in the country). It’s filled with basics, like this silk shirt in every color, cashmere blend sweaters, striped shirts all at affordable prices. This shirt was only $39! Think H&M meets American Aparel. Fortunately for me, but unfortunately for my wallet, there’s a store directly across from my office!
I’m in love with my Rebbeca Minkoff bag!!! I got it during the after Thanksgiving Day sale and I’m thinking about getting another one in pink.
