Hello lovely readers, happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend, I sure did. Spent time with friends, family and my amazing boyfriend. This is what I wore for my Saturday night date with Frank. I have to admit, I really didn’t thing I would jump on the fringe trend until I spotted this awesome skirt at Zara a few weeks ago. It spent about a week in the original shopping bag by my door ready to be returned, but I changed my mind. I guess you can say, it kinda grew on me.
What do you think, will you be trying out this trend?

I couldn’t help it…just had to 🙂
I hope it’s not obvious but this look was a combination of my laziest efforts. There is no outfit that is more versatile and as much of a no-brainer as a DVF wrap dress. Whenever my brain hurts too much to create a fabulous outfit, I default to one of the DVF wrap dresses that I’ve accumulated over the years. If you follow us on facebook, you know that Diana and I went to the DVF sample sale a few weeks ago — one of our yearly, sister-bonding traditions. This year, I was lucky enough to score this fabulous coral and mint printed dress. So when I got up and realized it was Monday, and that it was cold, and that I was completely uninspired, I turned to this bright dress for comfort. But the laziness did not stop there folks. I also employed my laziest hair style — the sock bun. — Great tutorial for that here – from Wendy’s Lookbook.
So, there you have it folks — I hope that even though it was lazy, it worked. What’s your lazy day regime?

So sorry for the late post today. It’s been that kind of week. On the bright side, I lost 4 pounds this week! However, since I’m going out to a Portuguese restaurant for dinner tonight, that may or may not all go to hell in a hand basket. Here’s to hoping I have some self-control.
Ever since I saw Cece from New Girl rocking peach and red on an episode of New Girl a few months back, I fell in love with the color combo.
Here I recreated the combo with red jeans, and a peach blazer. I also threw in the bubble necklace in aqua and almost took it off before I walked out the door. What do you think? Is it too much? Should I have simply stuck to peach and red?

I know I was just badmouthing this skirt from the Jason Wu for Target collection the other day, but let me explain. It’s not that I don’t like the design, because I do. I just wish it had been made with a little more integrity — perhaps with a fabric that was less stiff and with a little more than a screen printed design. That said, I still like it and I will still wear it. Just as I did below to brighten up this rainy day we’re having here in the northeast.

note: I went for the “muscly” calf look in an effort to emulate my favorite royal at Ascot this weekend! 🙂
I’ve been been wearing layered necklaces for quiet some time. In my typical effort to stay safe, they’ve usually been simple chains with small charms. Lately, I’ve seen some beautiful combinations of statement necklaces. I decided to give it try last weekend.
What do you think? will you try this trend?

I’m so excited to participate in Marionberry Style’s Trend of the Month challenge. This month’s challenge is florals. I decided to bring two trends together, hi-low skirt and florals. I initially tried this dress with a couple of belts, but something just didn’t look right. I took them off and I realized that the dress looked great just as is. I guess sometimes less is more.
Make sure you stop by Marion’s blog to see other bloggers that participated on this challenge. Plus be sure to visit frequently. She has amazing style and is incredibly sweet.

I think I need a haircut.
I recently stocked up on gingham shirts (yeah I know, where have I been). This one happens to be one of my favorites. I don’t know if you can tell, but the checks on the waist get a little smaller in order to create a slimming effect. I wore this to the office the other day and recieved so many compliments.
Would you wear this to the office?

Cat’s hubby was out of town this weekend, that means I got a ton of sees time!!! On Friday night we had a sleep over and worked on a super fun DIY project, neon yellow cap toe heels…of course inspired by A Pair and a Spare. I’m thinking about wearing these for Marion’s “Trend of the Month Challenge”. Make sure you stop by her blog and join the challenge. She has GREAT style, is hysterical and super sweet!
On Saturday, Cat and I woke up to a FB message from our cousin telling us that she’s having a last minute party for her little princess turning 3. Although we were planning to go for a run, we immediately thought the same thing and raced to the Gap to buy her a DVF for Gap outfit!!! Yay, mission accomplished! Hmmm…in case you were wondering, no we didn’t go for a run, we walked really fast in the mall to get a workout…ha ha.
We eneded the weekend with a mom and daughter shopping trip to the mall, hence the fitting rooms pictures. We’re still a bit shy about taking pictures outside…baby steps, baby steps.
Have a great week!

If you follow us on twitter, you may have seen the makings of this necklace. It was a little DIY project inspired by Geneva from a Pair and a Spare…she’s so creative, I don’t know how she comes up with this stuff but I’m obsessed. Here is the finished product!
BTW, I’m in love with my new Cambridge Satchel Bag. Frank go it for me for Valentine’s Day 🙂

Last weekend, friend Jessica and I visited Sabrina, of Sabrina and the City, in San Francisco. The 6 miles we walked and 17 miles we biked on Day 1 and Day 2 literally wore us out, so we decided to take day 3 at a more leisurely pace. I even let my hair down and all!

Our first stop was breakfast at La Boulange on Union Street for this delicious breakfast of fresh fruit and egg on whole wheat.
Next, we cabbed it over to Pier 33 for our Alcatraz tour which I highly recommend. Not only is the history (that we learned on the audio tour) fascinating, the views of the city from the island are second to none. It really is breathtaking.
After a couple hours we took the ferry back to the mainland, had lunch, and attended the AMAZING Beach Blanket Babylon — the longest running musical review in theater history! It was funny, and edgy and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Finally, we went back to Sabs’ place for the evening, ordered Thai, and had ourselves a little Oscar party. Speaking of the Oscars? Who was your pick for best dressed? For me it was a toss up between Jessica Chastain in an opulent Alexander McQueen gown, Jennfer Lopez in a stunning Zuhair Murad gown, and Clooney’s arm candy, Stacy Kiebler, in Marchesa. But while these ladies certainly looked gorgeous, the real stars of the night for me were the hilarious Twitter accounts that came of some of the evening’s most memorable moments: @JLosNipple and @AngiesRightLeg.
Aside from a little walking on Union Street on Monday morning, that was the end of our incredible trip. For those of you who haven’t visited, San Francisco is completely gorgeous. I’ll miss it but I’ll surely be there again! Have a great weekend where ever you are!
