It has been a rainy, dark week here in NYC. So I thought I’d brighten up my mood by brightening up my outfit. I just pulled all the bright things that caught my eye and put them on. Kidding, but I did have a mission to dress bright. Mission accomplished!
On another note, you may have noticed that Cat has not posted at all this week. Well, she’s celebrating her one year anniversary with M in the Bahamas. Happy Anniversary Sees and Bro! Lucky for me, I’m also heading out to the tropics. A wedding in Mexico for a dear friend’s wedding. I’m so excited! My flight is tomorrow morning, and for some crazy reason I decided to check my passport on Tuesday night around 10pm. I usually just grab it and go, but not this time. Guess what, I realized that it expired on August of 2011!!! I freaked out, started crying and called my mom. Mom fixes everything. She told me that I would be able to go to a regional office and get express service and a passport the same day. The closest available appointment was Wednesday morning in Connecticut! I had to bring a bunch of documents and 2 passport pictures. Well, I have a lot of outfit shots but no passport pictures handy. I got all dolled up and headed to my local Walgreens, thank goodness for 24 hour service! I woke up bright and early, gave myself 3 hours for a 50 mile drive and made it with 30 minutes to spare (thank you GW traffic!) I’m so excited to tell you that I got a new passport and now I’m heading to Mexico tomorrow! Yay!
Cant’ wait to share wedding pictures, guest outfits and vacation outfit shots!
Have a great weekend!

I picked up this dress during Ann Taylor’s recent F&F sale. Actually, I picked it up the day before the sale when the lovely sales person talked me into getting a credit card…yikes I know. I don’t generally like to have store credit cards, but I decided to add this one because they often provide special perks for card holders such as F&F a day early. Score, I got this gorgeous dress. I decided to wear it the next day, but struggled with what shoes to wear with it. I finally decided on the black, I know, very safe of me. I just thought the dress was so bright that I needed to keep everything else neutral.
What do you think? Which shoes would you have worn?

It was 78 degrees when I woke up yesterday and this morning it was 60 degrees! I don’t know what’s goin on, but it’s still technically summer time. I hope we don’t jump straight to winter without going thru fall…I have too many outfits to go thru. This is one of them. I picked them up during Loft’s recent sales. I can’t wait to pair this skirt with a blazer (my fave look), or a button down blouse.
For some crazy reason, I don’t wear much brown. I’ve had these pants for many years and have managed to wear them only a few times. The other day, I happen to be emptying out the contents of my closet on my bed (usual routine for me in the mornings) and I literally piled this shirt on top of these pants. I loved what I saw…and without even trying, I created an outfit!
Pants: Victoria’s Secret
I got this shirt a couple of years ago at a DVF Sample Sale…too bad they don’t carry stuff like this anymore. The recent sale was full of dark clothes, lots of boxy dresses and jackets. I’m crossing my fingers that they get better stuff in for the next sale…I need more tops!
Top: Arden B
I just adore these blue shoes, they always spice up any outfits!
