I turned 36 yesterday, yes 36! Happy Birthday to me! Frank surprised me by taking me shopping in Soho on Saturday. Believe it or not, I had a hard time picking out items as I’m a little over Summer and looking forward to Fall items. I ended up picking up a super soft leather jacket from Bloomies, love!
I decided I needed to be comfortable to walk around, this is what I wore.
PS. I know, there’s that Rebecca Minkoff bag again. I know you all must be tired of it, but I just LOVE it 🙂
Top: H&M; Shorts: J Crew; Shoes: Zara; Bag: Rebecca Minkoff; Necklace: Banana Republic (old)
Remember when I bought these red shorts? Well, I picked up this top and jeans as well, but these were on sale 🙂 As soon as I saw this top, I knew I had to have it. There’s just something so cute about those little anchors, they make me feel like a sailor (salute) And these jeans, well they were so bright that they found me. Oh by the way, they are all still on sale and available…yay!
Have a great weekend all. I’m heading to Fire Island with 20 other girls for a bachelorette party for my wonderful friend Meghan!

I have to admit, as much as I love celebrating a good holiday, a Wednesday celebration is just a bit weird. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll take a break from the week anytime, but it just seemed like such a tease. Anyway, as I return the office, I decided I would bringhten up my outfit in hopes of brightening up my mood (I’m feeling so lazy) Thank goodness it’s Friday!
Are you all working today? Or did you take the day off?
Ooh, we’re taking over Coming Unstitched, come check out our post! 🙂

Hey everyone, we’re baaaaack. I have some outfit shots to post later on in the week. For now, I leave you with today’s work outfit. This is one of those skirts I only wear in the Spring/Summer time. I really love it because it just goes with everything. Oh, and did you notice I finally got a haircut? Secret, I used to tease the heck out of my crown just to get some volume because it was so long and weighed down. I finally have some “natural” volume back.
Top: Ann Taylor: Skirt: Loft; Shoes: Nine West; Necklace: JCrew
I generally don’t like to wear sleeveles dresses to the office. I usually cover them up with a blazer or in this case a light cardigan. I’m top heavy so I usually like to tone down what’s going on up there.
Do you wear sleeveless to the office?
Dress: Banana Republic; Cardigan: Limited; Shoes: Nine West; Necklace: Jcrew outlet
We’re back from Savvanah, GA and what a charming city it was. Keep an eye out for Cat’s recap of our wonderful mini-vacay later this week.
Now, onto the outfit. Yes, these are boyfriend jeans, but the “boyfriend” part of this title really refers to my boyfriend. Frank bought me almost all the accessories I’m wearing with this outfit (Not to mention, I’m in his apartment too) He gave me this bag on Valentine’s day and he gave me these shoes as a thank you for helping him clean his apartment. Isn’t he so sweet? I would have done it for nothing, but I was VERY grateful for these gorgeous and edgy little guys.
Hope you all have a great week!

Keeping lace professional sounds like a bit of an oxymoron, however wearing lace to the office can be done. Just make sure you keep a few things in mind. I would stay away from tops (although I did it once…and got a few weird looks). Bottoms in neutral colors would work best, black, blue or even cream lace on a casual Friday. Make sure it’s a “thick/crochet” lace. Anything thinner than that would probably not work. Add some simple details like a button down with a lady-like necklace, simple pumps, and maybe a belt (for contrast) and you’re ready to tackle the work day .
Here’s how I do it. Do you wear lace to the office?

We’re very sorry that we have been MIA in the last couple of days. Cat and I were in San Jose, at our company’s HQ attending a Women In Technology Forum. We had the opportunity to listen to many of our women executives, so inspiring. Well, we ended up traveling all day on Monday and spent the entire day in the forum. We just go in on the red eye…exhausted!
Onto the outfit, I recently picked up this pair of floral pants and couldn’t help myself. I had to replicate Katie Holmes outfit…..for much less!
Which celebrity looks do you like to replicate?
Top: Jcrew Factory (on Sale) ; Jeans: Delia’s; Shoes: Calvin Klein
I recently stocked up on gingham shirts (yeah I know, where have I been). This one happens to be one of my favorites. I don’t know if you can tell, but the checks on the waist get a little smaller in order to create a slimming effect. I wore this to the office the other day and recieved so many compliments.
Would you wear this to the office?

Tyring out new eyeshadow, like?
I wanted to keep it simple and professional today. I threw on my trusty Editor Pants. Unlike Cat, I feel like the Editor pants work better on my body. Check out her post on Editors vs Columnist. We have many things in common, however height is not one of them! Cat is 5’7″ (or 8″….I conviniently forget) and I’m 5’2″ (well according to my last MD visit I’m 5′ 1.75″…I round up). I’m constantly try to find ways to make my legs look longer. Here are some tips. (1) Always wear heels with slacks. (2) Keep the hem at least 1/2 inch from the floor, the longer the length the longer your legs will appear. Just be careful not too make them too long becuase then you’ll look sloppy, you don’t want that. If you must get all your pants altered (I do) , make sure you bring the shoes you will wear most with those pants.
If you’re short, like me, what thing do you do to appear taller?
