70 degrees and sunny is not weather you’ll find in the northeast right now – where it’s upwards of 90 degrees and intermittently humid and rainy. So, you can imagine how awesome it is to be visiting Vancouver, BC where the weather is nearly perfect. It’s sunny and there’s a light breeze and I’m getting some use out of my cardis and jackets again – I’d forgotten how long I missed them. So, on this day of sightseeing, I definitely layered up with color but since we walked a lot, I wore flats. I like to be comfortable but I don’t normally wear sneakers outside of a gym. How about you, when you’re sightseeing and doing a lot of walking around, do you totally dress down and wear sneakers or do you save those for a workout and opt for cute flats instead? Do any of you brave souls break out heels?

Also, here are some photos of beautiful Vancouver. I was pleasantly surprised by how gorgeous it is!
Frank and I headed off to Cancun last weekend to celebrate the wedding of my dear friends Scott and Lana. As you may recall, I attended Lana’s super fun bridal shower a few months ago. This was my first destination wedding ever, we had such a blast! There are so many advantages of a destination wedding, my favorite is the weekend long party.
The invitation called for semi-formal attire, this is what I wore. I forgot to take a solo shot so here I am with my friend Amy and Frank 🙂 Double the pleasure, double the fun!

The Bridesmaids – Genius idea to get a convertible dress! Not sure where they bought them from, but I found this one.

I was inspired by this post from Marion from Marionberry Style. You guys, she has such great style and her Friday posts are hysterical recaps of her life as a school psychologist. She recently posted this outfit and I immediately started thinking about how I can take this trend to the office. I decided this look would be office appropriate by using an article of clothing and an accessory. Here’s what I came up with.
On a side note, I decided to try taking pictures out in my balcony. I thought it would be a small step towards venturing outside in the real world. It had just rained the night before and I guess some water accumulated on my neighbor’s balcony upstairs….this is what happened.
Plop! Water drop on my head! I went back inside.

Frank and I have been invited to four weddings this year. It’s funny how we go thru phases, some years none, others four. The fesitivities for our first wedding started this weekend with a beautiful bridal shower for Lana, my dear friend Scott’s beautiful fiance. It was a very festive celebration complete with dancing, vodka shots and champaign, my kind of party! The bridesmaids even shot a video of Scott and played and interactive “question” game with the bride. It was a lot of fun! Here’s what I wore.
Dress: Ann Taylor; necklace : Kohls; shoes: Steve Madden
My post today has nothing to do with President’s Day but I thought I ‘d just wish you all a happy one. Hopefully you are off from work, as I am. I’m enjoying the weekend with Frank out in our favorite Long Island spot, Jamesport.

Besides being super conservative with my jewelry (something I’m working on), I’m also very conservative with my make-up. I like to stick to neutrals and bronzes on my lids and almost never wear any color on my lips. I was feeling a little edgy and wanted to add some toughness to this delicate little skirt.

This weekend I celebrated on of my best friend’s birthday, Happy Birthday Meli!!! I also stopped by Kohls to check out J-Lo’s new line and walked away with this awesome LC jacket (I’ll be wearing it with EVERYTHIG this fall) and this super cute J-Lo top. At $84, I thought it was a bit too pricey, but a sweet lady behind the counter gave me a coupon so I got it for $60. It’s a great fit and I can’t wait to pair it with flowy pants, or skinny jeans!!!
Ooooohhhh…..I also finally got a tripod in hopes that my pictures are a little brighter. Stay tuned!

I’m not a big jewelry person..which I’m trying to change. I just couldn’t resist this piece during a trip to Kohl’s a few months ago. It can brighten up any outfit, including this all black ensemble I put together for a customer visit. Wish me luck, I’m trying to close a deal 🙂

I bought this dress a size too big and took it to the best seamstress I know, Maria. She’s pretty amazing and I highly recommend her.
