One of my biggest weaknesses lately has been J Crew and J Crew Factory store. Everything is just so well made and the sizing is just perfect for my body. I often have a difficult time finding shorts but these are just perfect, flattering rise and just the perfect length to show off my 5’1″ frame (yes, I went to the doctor and it appears that I’ve shrunk!)
Have a great weekend everyone!

I don’t know if you can tell, but I’m totally sick in these pictures. I had to peel myself out of bed to get to the doctor, so I decided to put on something nice (I had been in PJs all weekend) I know, I’m super weird. Even the people at the doctor’s office were looking at me weird. I’m not sure if I was just delirious but I really thought these shoes looked great with this outfit. I like the mix of tough and sweet. What do you think? Is it a do or don’t?

Oooh, sorry for the late post today, but I have a good excuse. I was at the DVF Sample Sale this morning! (You can find all details on our FB page) . Today, the DVF Sample Sale opened their doors to friends and family. It opens to the public tomorrow, but I was able to get a sneak peak 😉 OK, I can’t even pretend I’m special. I heard somewhere that they won’t turn you away at the door even if you’re not F&F. I decided to take a leap of faith and go. I got to the office early to jump on a conference call and drop of my stuff. At around 8:30 I changed into flats, grabbed a credit card and rushed off to 5th Avenue (need to keep the baggage light!) Luckily, it’s only a few blocks away from my office. I arrived a few minutes later to a line of about 10 women patiently waiting to be let in. We soon found out that only Press was allowed in between 8 and 10AM. Crap, I have a meeting at 11AM! I have a busy week this week, so if not now, I didn’t know when I would be able to come back. I decided to wait. I remembered the weatherman on the news mention some rain this afternoon, well, he was wrong! It came down this morning all over me and the ladies on line. Luckily, the super nice door man had umbrellas for us. How nice is that? Love that DVF has such great people working for her. Ok ok, enough of that. So finally, 10am arrives and I go in. I had to be very strategic because I only had 30 minutes, which meant no trying anything on. My eyes opened up wide as I look at all the lovely bright prints and wrap dresses. I find the row with my size and go in for the kill. There were tons of wrap dresses, resort wear and lots and lots of color! I scored two wrap dresses and a lovely bag. I will be sure to post them on the blog soon, I promise. In the meantime, if you don’t live in nyc, DVF is having their FIRST sample sale ONLINE. Sign up here to get an invite. http://www.dvfsamplesale.com/
Oh yeah, here’s what I wore this weekend, if you’re not rushing off to sign up for the sale already 🙂
Are you planning on attending the DVF SS on 5th Avenue or online?

This past weekend was absolutely perfect in NYC. The BF and I decided to spend the day shopping in Soho. He was feeling generous so he bought me a super cute top at Topshop. Gosh, I love my boyfriend. Sorry, mushy moment.
Onto the outfit, I bought this skirt at a DFV sample sale a few years ago. While it’s such a cute skirt, I’ve only worn it a couple of times because I categorized it as one of my “dressy” skirts. Here’s how I wore it in the past (1 and 2 ) In an effort to wear this awesome piece more than twice a year, I decided to take it out for a casual spin. Well, somewhat casual, Frank thought I was super dressed up. Here’s what I came up with. I threw on a cotton tank with a linen blazer and put on my cute Zara flats. I added on a few light accessories. What do you think?
How do you create a casual look with a dressy piece?

One of the reasons I love blogging is because it has forced to step outside my comfort zone. I was always a black and (insert color) kinda girl. Mixing paterns have been in full effect for the past few seasons. I’m not going to lie, I’m terrified of it! Today, I decided to give it a try. Here’s what I came up with.
Tell me, do you mix paterns? What rules do you follow?

During the mayhem of fashion week last week, the team behind Blogger’s Night Out hosted their second event in New York City at the Caulfield. The venue was packed with fabulous sponsors including Sorrelli Jewelry and TJ Maxx and we were lucky to meet and get to know a few wonderful gals with fantastic blogs. So when you get a chance definitely head on over to visit Ely of Ripped Nylon, Emily of Loftiss Says, and Christine of Beauty in NYC. Also check out the edgy jewelry at In Pirate We Trust. We had a great time and we can’t wait until the next event!

This outfit was inspired by the faboulous Christina of Profresh Style. She loves this top, as do I, and has worn it several ways and inspired this outfit. This is a light attempt at mixing prints. Ok, I know the top is not printed, but the crochet gives it a printed effect…baby steps for me 🙂
